Studies on the Concurrent Administrations of Medicines (¥´)

Abstract
Anchung-San has been used for stomach and intestinal disorders in Korean traditional medi-cine. These studies were undertaken to evaluate the secretion of gastric juice, antiulcer and anal-gestic effects by concurrent administration of Anchung-San Extract and Cimetidine. The followings were obtained as the results
1) In the secreting volume of gastric juice, in contrast with control group, cimetidine(50,100,200 mg/kg), Anchung-San extract(100,200 mg/kg), and cimetidine + Anchung-San extract (50+50,50+100,100+50,100+100 mg/kg) groups revealed significantly reduction.
2) In the pH of gastric juice, in contrast with control group, cimetidine(50,100,200 mg/kg), Anchung-San extract (100,200 mg/kg), and Cimetidine+Anchung-San extract(50+50, 50+100, 100+100 mg/kg)groups revealed significantly increase.
3) In total acidity of gastric juice, in contrast with control group, cimetidine(100, 200 mg/kg), Anchung-San extract(100, 200 mg/kg), and cimetidine + Anchung-San extract (50+100, 100+50, 100+100 mg/kg)groups revealed significantly reduction.
4) Aspirin-induced gastric ulcer were significantly repaired by the administration of cimetidine (50,100,200 mg/kg), Anchung-San extract(100, 200 mg/kg), and cimetidine + Anchung-San extract(50+50, 50+100, 100+50, 100+100 mg/kg).
5) The number of writhing symptoms by acetic acid were inhibited in Anchung-San extract (100, 200 mg/kg), and Cimetidine + Anchung-San extract (50+100, 100+50, 100+100 mg/kg)groups.
